Make Some Flowers

It's Saturday, so that means a new Shannon's Sentiments challenge is up! This week, our guest designer, Denise, has challenged us make an embellishment.
Well, you know I don't MAKE anything, so I'm hoping Denise isn't upset with my Grand Calibur-made flowers.  Of course I used the mini rolled rose die from MFT!  LOVE that thing!  And some yummy felt from MFT, too.  I took one of Shannon's Spring Time images, colored a touch (see the Spica peaking out?), and added the roses.  This is for the Sweet Sunday Sketch - just barely squeaking that one in!  Of course I HAD to play this week because I won last week!!!!  Oh yeah!!!!  I guess you'd like to see the whole card, huh?  Here you go...

Project 365 Peak

This week, Shannon's Sentiments is sponsoring the Project 365 Cards.  About a month ago, I signed up for today for the challenge posting blindly, not knowing what the challenge was.  A couple of weeks ago we got the challenge for today, and guess what it is - USE KRAFT!!!! JACKPOT!!!!
The whole challenge is to use kraft with a nature theme.  Uh, OK.  But, wait! You see the sentiment?  You will NOT find that in Shannon's store yet.  That's right, it's a SNEAK PEAK of a special set that Shannon made for me to send cards to wounded service men and women at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center as a part of Cards for a Cause on SCS.  I am sponsoring this challenge for the month of May, and the Get Well set will be available on May 1st for you to join me.  Shannon has put together a fabulous group of sentiments and wrapped it up with some cute images.  Starting today, on my blog, you will see mainly Get Well and Thank You for Your Service cards through the end of May.  All of these cards will be headed to Germany to hopefully bring a smile to a face who needs it.  I hope you will join me in this campaign (details will be posted on SCS on May 1, as well)!

With Sympathy

Today's card was purpose-driven, unfortunately.  A friend of the family passed away after a life-long battle with diabetes and complications from the disease.
I used, what I'm calling, digital paper piecing for the heart on this project where I replaced the black stamp lines with patterned paper.  I used the FREE Robyn digital papers for the heart and the bottom stripe.
I will add this to Paula-Kay's paper piecing gallery on DDH, along with the following challenges:
Creative Inspiration - use a digi
CES Challenges - spring colors
Card Makin Mamas - spring colors
Phindy's Place - paper piecing

Saturday Sentiments Challenge

It's Saturday, so that means another Shannon's Sentiments challenge.  This time, yours truly is up!  I think I almost pulled one over on myself.  My challenge was to do anything but a card, and I just could NOT decide what to do!  I settled on a little box that I will give to my mom to put what-knots in for her sewing/quilting.
We hope you'll play along with us!

Earth Day Blog Hop

Today is Earth Day, and Shannon's Sentiments is celebrating with a blog hop, but just not ANY blog hop - it's a hop to recycle your scraps.  WHAT?!  USE my scraps?!  I thought those were just for hoarding!  GASP!  THUD!  Ok, picking myself up off the floor to create this little number for ya...

I used Paula-Kay's challenge for Paper Piecing (I think I'm addicted), but it's a perfect way to use up those scraps!  I must confess that the card board box thing is actually Canvas Corp paper (not a recycled box). Your next stop is Jen, but if you'd like to see the whole list, here ya go:

It's Time to Blast Back

Welcome to another edition of the Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop!
Sankari has given us another fabulous sketch, and OF COURSE I messed with it.  We are supposed to use a set that wasn't released in the past few months, but since this is a digi, I wasn't sure where that fell, and I was dying to play with these adorable penguins!  I'm calling that a gray area and going with it!  And can you believe it that EVERYTHING I used on this card was completely FREE?!  Oh yes, FREE (my favorite price!)!!!  The digi stamps (penguins and sentiment) are part of a free set Taylor is giving away on her new Splitcoaststampers member forum.  Grab those HERE.  The black & white papers are part of two sets of digi papers from Digi Design House.  Grab them (plus others) HERE.  Ok, enough yabbering, here's the card!
Everything is digital, to include the coloring.  You see how cleverly I gave them polka-dotted shadows??? Oh how I LOVE LOVE LOVE the capabilities of the digi stamps!  Your next stop on the hop is Crafty Math Chick, and how cute is her card?!  Have fun, and thanks for stopping by!
Here are all of today's hoppers:

New DDH Challenge

There's another DDH challenge up!  This time, Paula-Kay has challenged us to paper piece, and let me tell you how EASY that is with digital stamps!  You can merely print the stamp on the patterned paper you want - easy peasy!  I decided to go a little exotic with this one.
You see how the butterflies are "paper pieced"?  I'm calling this digital paper piecing.  I replaced the stamp lines with patterned paper, this FREE set of Digi Papers called Robyn, I might add.  Oh, you wanna see the whole project?

I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch, of course.  Enjoy!

Happy Easter

You know I'm no good with a calendar, but this time I have an excuse!  Shannon has challenged us to make an Easter card today over on the Shannon's Sentiments Storefront.

Work has been very complicated and tedious lately, so I've been drawn to very simple designs lately.  Oddly, I find myself wanting to use the computer, even though I'm on it ALL day long... hmmmm... In any event, we hope you'll play along with this week's challenge!

It's HERE!

Today is Release Day with Shannon's Sentiments!  And what good is a release without a SALE?!  Here you go... 20% sale code: AprRel20 -- Good from the 15th thru the 22nd.
I went very simple and clean today, and completely digital and I'm not really sure why.  The paper is from Floral papers that I digitally paper pieced.  The sentiment and umbrella are from the Summertime set that stupid work didn't let me participate in the preview for.  That darn work! Well, enough chatter out of me... I hope you will join the party on CDAC tonight - there's ALWAYS free stuff!  It starts at 7PM CST... see you there!
Your next stop on the hop is the FABULOUS Christy... ENJOY!

Pretty as a Peacock

I thought I would share a little beauty in preparation for Monday morning.  As always, I wish the shimmer of the card would come thru... the black in the tail is colored in a green Spica, so it shimmers like a real peacock; the chipboard swirl is sprayed in Glimmer Mist, as is the base card stock.  In any event, you can imagine, so enjoy!  I used the Operation Write Home sketch, but you know me and sketches, so it might be tough to tell...
Don't forget to play in Teresa's challenge over on Digi Design House.
Copics used: B02, B04, B06, E15, R24, R27, R29, YG13, YG21, YG25, Melon Spica, Sky Blue Spica

Secret Crafter - feathered friends
Shannon's Sentiments - include an animal (bird works, right?)

Blizzard Re-Cap

Now that the grass has been around for quite some time, I'm ok making a scrapbook page for the trial my poor puppies went through during the blizzard that hit in February.  And what better time to do so than when Kapree has challenged us to use an animal on a card for this week's Shannon's Sentiments challenge.  Hope you'll play with us this week!  You'll want to click on the picture below to see it bigger... my poor poor puppies!
Shannon's Sentiments sets used: Vintage Tags, Garden Party, Blossom Papers

Stitch It Up!

It's time for another Digi Design House Challenge, and this time, Teresa has a great one for us - use stitches.  I keep seeing fabulous sewing on cards and thought I might be able to do that, so I dusted off the sewing machine and gave it a whirl.  Yeah, I need practice!  I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch, of course, and it's almost right on, just one panel shifted slightly.  I also found The Kraft Journal (perfect for this kraft lover, of course!), and this week's theme is Spring Cleaning.  No one spring cleans like birds - they are ON IT!  Hope you will play with us this week!
Other Challenges Entered:
Craft Your Passion - Anything goes
Make It Monday - Anything goes
My Partner in Crafting Crime - Layer it up
Paper Playtime - Anything goes with Digi

My Etsy is Open

I have finally decided to open my Etsy shop.  I created the shop in January, but finally added items.  I have quite a few more cards to add, but there are some to get ya started.  I also have some Sizzix dies in there, since they won't work on my Grand Calibur.  You can also find the Baby Latte stamp I posted earlier today in the shop.  There will be more to come...  Have fun shopping - My Etsy Shop

I Drew

I've been a little histitant to post this because I still can't believe it, but I drew something that actually looks presentable. And more than that, I entered it in a contest! I drew the Baby Latte image below for the CDAC contest. The voting has started, and little Latte even has some votes! You should go check it out and see the fabulous work... CDAC Group You do need to join the site and the group to vote, but I hope you'll check it out!
