Happy Birthday Stephanie!!!!

Welcome to the Stephanie Serrano Surprise Birthday Blog Hop!  Today, a group of gals across the world are celebrating Stephanie's birthday.  I used another adorable mouse from the Everyday Mice set by Digi Design House.  You can win this set simply by commenting on this blog post.  I will draw one winner on Saturday, April 2nd.  This sketch is one of the bonus sketches for this week for Operation Write Home.
After you've gone through the hop, be sure to leave some birthday love on Stephanie's blog, and tell her Michelle Single sent you, since this is a surprise for her birthday.
Your next stop on the hop is Shelly Scott.  Enjoy!!!

Handmade Flowers

Today begins the next challenge on The Stamping Boutique - handmade flowers.  As I'm sure you know, I don't exactly hand make much, but am a HUGE fan of my die cut machine (currently, the Grand Calibur)!  I used the Mini Rolled Rose die from MFT to make the flowers and put some liquid pearls in the center.  I used the super-cute Reading to Sister stamp, but I was stuck on the rest until the Sweet Sunday Sketch for this week was posted, of course.  How does Karen always know what I need???  Is she watching me?  The size of this card is 5x5.5.

Copics used: B97 (bunny eyes); BV04, BV04, & YR09 (bow); E70, E71, & E74 (book); R30, Y32, W1, W3, & W5 (gray bunny); R20, R21, R22, W1 & Y32 (pink bunny)

Throwing It Down

It's MY Saturday to host the challenge at Shannon's Sentiments.  Being this is the first challenge of spring, I challenge you to use these springy colors - yellow, pink, and green; any neutrals added in is just fine.
I decided to go non-card today and make myself my very own special Easter basket.  Maybe it's because I've been feeling VERY under the weather, but that's what I wanted to do.  I used the Tote Bag from the Re-cycle set as my template and colored in the sentiment.  There's some Spica on the sentiment, too (go figure, right?), but of course, it's shy and doesn't like to be photographed.  And oh yes, that's the green M-n-M peaking out in her bunny ears... green is one of the colors, remember!  Speaking of Re-cycle, make sure you sign up for our First EVER Customer Blog Hop on Earth Day - details HERE.

I Dare You!

Ok, maybe not, but today's project is for the Dutch Dare Challenge, which The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring this week. I used one of Tracey's new images, and to be honest, when I first saw this image, it creeped me out. As a DT member with TSB, we get a few images for free each month, and this is one reason why I let Christy (our fabulous coordinator) pick them for me - to get me to use something I wouldn't normally use.  I decided to use this image for this challenge, because it was a dare, after all, right?  Once I got to playing with the image, I'm liking it!  Thanks, Christy, for challenging me!
Copics Used: B23, B26, E11, E15, E50, E51, G82, G85, R01, R21, R22, Y11, Y15, V25, Spicas

It's Time to Blast Back!

Welcome to another Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop!  As usual, Sankari gave us a FABULOUS sketch, and in Michelle style, I butchered it.  I used one of my favorite new tools from Taylored Expressions - the pennant die!  OMG this is TOO CUTE!  Oh how I cannot WAIT to wear my sandals!!!!!  Not that they look anywhere close to that, but, still they're sandals!  Well, I'll keep this short, since there's a TON of adorable cards to see on the hop today!
Your next stop is Melody, and the full list of participants can be seen at the end of this post.  ENJOY! {Pardon the pun...if you don't get there's a pun there, you need to shop more at Taylored Expressions!}  I won this set from a previous blog hop, so maybe you'll join the next one... one random blogger wins a TE set of their choice!

More Spring

I just can't help it!  I love love love Spring, so get used to seeing more spring cards.  Today's card just seems so peaceful to me.  I used the new Milk Can Flowers set by DDH and Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch.  I merged the flowers with the milk can in PhotoShop, saved as a photo, and printed it out.  I colored with quite a few Copics, but it was at the StampTV Illinois meet-up this past weekend, and I'm not really sure what I did with my list (sorry!).  I think the rest is self-explanatory, but please feel free to ask.  I think I was pretty close to Karen's sketch this time (milestone!), and this has to be one of my favorites.  Speaking of sketch, make sure you check out the one that Deb has for our second DDH challenge over on the DDH Blog. Can't wait to butcher play with that one.

Other Challenges this card will be entered in:
- House Mouse - Welcome Spring
- Lexi's Creations - Ribbons, but no bows or knots
- Make It Monday - anything goes
- Stamp with Fun - Spring
- Stamps R Us - Spring

- Card Cupids - Spring Inspired

Spring is Here!

Happy Spring, all!!!!  This week, Shannon's Sentiments is sponsoring Aly's Sunday Sketch with a spring theme.  Oh yes, I can do spring!  As you know, I am SO done with winter!  I used one of Shannon's new stamps called Floral Hat with the paper from my Taylored Expressions key ingredient kit.  Super easy!

Saturday Challenge

Yesterday, I observed the Bloggers Day of Silence in memory of those lost in the tragedy Japan. If you would like to donate, you can do so here: And now I celebrate my "normal" life in honor of those who cannot...

It's time for another challenge for Shannon's Sentiments.  Today's challenge is brought to you by Christy Dillman, who is the NEWEST member of our Design Team - CONGRATS, CHRISTY!!!!  I thought she was my friend, however, she challenged us today to do an unusual fold.  Oh, Christy!  Unusual folds are like fussy cutting - not compatible with Michelle.  But, alas, I plugged forward.  This cutie card (IMO!) will be a gift for my stamping friend, Shannon, to celebrate her first child.  Congrats, Shannon!
I used Cami's Trifold Card, and hopefully, that's unusual enough - it sure is for me! Enjoy!

Paper Piecing with Digis

Today, The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring C.R.A.F.T.'s paper piecing challenge.  I used Tiffany Doodle's tutorial to paper piece my image.  It was SO easy.  I was seriously scratching my head wondering why I didn't think of that!  In any event, little Audrey has a message for you today - Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Happy Mouse Day

When I saw these little mice, I knew I had to have them.  They are TOO cute!  This weekend, I watched some Copic coloring videos by Suzanne Dean (particularly this one on fur), and this morning I tried it.  I still have a LONG way to go to get anywhere close to her level, but practice makes perfect, right?  I combined a couple of challenges here - first of all, I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch (of course).  I also used the Make It Monday challenge to emboss just a part of the image.  I had made this card for the Copic Creations' challenge to use complimentary colors, but that one ended. This week's challenge is to use shades of blue, so I think I'm still good.  And last, but certainly not least, I used distress ink on the side of the circle for the current Digi Design House challenge to Distress.  You still have until Sunday at 7PM to play in that challenge... hope you will play along!  As you can see, it doesn't have to be anything crazy on the distressing.

Stamps: Everyday Mice by DDH

Operation Write Home Bunny Hop

Today, the Shannon's Sentiments team is combining our normal weekly challenge with the Operation Write Home blog hop.  There was NO doubt in my mind that I was going to participate in this hop, which will hopefully raise awareness and get more donations for this unbelievable cause.  As a former recipient of the American public's love for complete strangers, I feel the obligation to pass this along.  I hope you, too, will hop on over to OWH and spread some love.  I have linked their Get Involved section, but there are tons of others resources on the site, as well, and they are broken down by skill level - check it out!
I have stepped down from my soap box to bring you this card today.  Cindy has challenged us to use spray mist, and the OWH blog hop is called the bunny hop, so here you go... I made the background with Glimmer Mist, and the bunny is also colored with Glimmer Mist... talk about some serious shimmer on this card!  I colored the white areas with a white crayon before misting, so they would stay white.  I think the rest is pretty self-explanatory... to continue on your hop journey, your next stop is Patty... ENJOY!
Before you hop over, don't forget to vote for your favorite card in The Stamping Boutique Blog Hop, of sorts.  After you've voted, come on back here and tell me which card you think is mine (even if you didn't vote for it ) for a chance at a $10 The Stamping Boutique gift certificate! The voting ends at 11PM CST on Sunday, but I will give you until Tuesday at 6PM to pick mine.  I will post my card on Wednesday and reveal the winner.
