Mixed Media Anyone?

So I've seen about 1000 different mixed media things, and I kept thinking I would try it.  Michael's had their canvases on sale like months ago, so I bought a couple. And yes, they've just been sitting there.  Until this weekend!
This is my first attempt at painting, let alone mixed media, and it's not bad, if I do say so myself.  We couldn't have a worse day for taking photos, either, so sorry about the pic.  I used my safety blanket - the adorable peek-a-boo penguin from The Stamping Boutique.  He is colored with Copics, the globe is airbrushed with B01 then covered in Glossy Accents, and his hat and the snowflakes have Icicle Stickles on them.  There is silver mixed with white paint around the circle he's on with a ring of Icicle Stickles. The blue haze of the snow is airbrushed with Copic markers (like 10 blues because I couldn't decide), then I added white and silver paint over that, and Icicle Stickles and Icicle Glimmer Glaze as the finishing touches.  The tree is brown paint with Cowboy Glimmer Glaze and Icicle Stickles.  The clouds are MFT felt with Icicle Stickles. And last but not least are the pearls.
Enjoy!

This is really cute! That is an adorable penguin. I just don't have to courage to work on a canvas yet!

Oh Michelle! This is soooo sweet!!!! Perfect for a hot and humid day today. Helps me escape in these icy blues, glitters and the beautiful clouds that are blowing out sparkly pearly snow. I know you must have had alot of fun creating this project.

Thanks for playing along and sharing it with us at Freshly Brewed Challenges Anything But a Card Challenge!
