Happy Halloween

Yesterday, the pups went to trick or treat.  Oh yes, both of my dog need therapy!  Gandy was Yoda, and Latte was a banana split.  Tonight, the kids come trick or treating, so Latte the banana split will be ready to greet them!  No tricks today, though, I have some MORE cards, only TWO more to complete ALL the challenges for Hope You Can Cling To...
The first card was to use a girl or woman stamp and *some* pink.  I hadn't used the Teena from Pet's Place, so what a perfect time to do that! Just about everything from this card is from the Pet's Place Project Pantry Kit.  Today is the LAST day these two items are on sale... GRAB THEM!  Apparently, the Sankari spirit is still with me... look at those pearls!  This card was made with the Sweet Sunday Sketch for this week.  Click on the picture to make it bigger, so you can see the stripes on my tiger cat... look at me go!!!!
Stamp Sets: Pet's Place by Taylored Expressions
Ink: Momento Rich Cocoa
Copics: B93, B97, BG72, E25, E33, E50, E51, E53, E57, N0, R01, R85, YR18, Sand Spica
Paper: ALL from the Pet's Place Pantry Project Kit by Taylored Expressions
Accessories: Marina Mist 1 1/4" striped grosgrain, Adirondack Espresso Pearls
Punches: None
Big Shot:
Petite Small Ovals
Challenges Used: HYCCT24, SSSC91

This next card is parting with one of my MOST cherished possessions!  When I was stalking the Taylored Expressions booth at CHA, THE Nancy McKinney taught me how to do some techniques with Copics (one of them would be coloring - yup, was Copic Virgin until CHA!).  She made this little clown to show me how to make patterns with the 0 colorless blender.  I have been hoarding this little clown, but I decided to donate it to a GREAT cause.  On to Texas you go, little clown!  The edge of the die cut is inked with Brilliance Moonlight ink for some shimmer, that, of course, doesn't show in the pic.
Stamp Sets: Trick or Sweet II by Taylored Expressions
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Brilliance Moonlight (chalked the edges of the die cut)
Copics: Not sure which colors she used, sorry :(
Paper: ALL from Make a Wish Pantry Project Kit by Taylored Expressions
Accessories: Ribbon & "Cherry" from Make a Wish Pantry Project Kit, Buttons from Pet's Place Pantry Project Kit
Punches: None
Big Shot:
Take Note Die 2 from Taylored Expressions
Challenges Used: HYCCT25

The last card for today was to create an invitation for time with girl friends.  DUH - I always meet for coffee.  I need a little help with this card... the beans and the cup with steam are from a set that I "found" in my stash and haven't the first clue who makes it or what it's called.  It's a clear set with 3 cups, a Starbucks hot cup, and a few sentiments like - we're the perfect blend and you're tea-riffic.  If you have any thoughts, I'd like to give credit, so drop me a line - THANKS!  This layout is from the Clean & Simple sketch for this week.
Stamp Sets: Let's Do Coffee by Taylored Expressions & Some other unknown coffee set
Ink: Momento Rich Cocoa
Copics: None
Paper: Confetti Cream
Accessories: Lots of Stampin' Write Marker, Lime Green & Starry Night Stickles, Adirondack Espresso Pearls, Gelly Roll Stardust pen
Punches: None
Big Shot:
None
Challenges Used: HYCCT28, FTL114

Well, that's all for today... just 2 more to go to complete the month-long challenge.  YEAH!!!!

Warning - LONG post

Michelle has been stamping!!!! What can I say?! I've been a busy bee this morning.  Sleep might have been preferred, but I think the creations turned out ok... you can probably tell the ones I did BEFORE I went to Starbucks.  The cards are posted in order of the HYCCT challenges, not in the order of their creation.  In any event, enjoy!

The first card for today was to make hand-made embellishments.  Not so sure I did all that swell on this... I made the felt flower, but the rest, not so much.

Stamp Sets: Make a Wish by Taylored Expressions
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Copics: None
Paper: River Rock, Make a Wish Pantry Project Kit by Taylored Expressions
Accessories: Jumbo Button (from Holiday Mini Catalog - can't remember name), Baker's Twine, Felt, Tiny Twinkles from Taylored Expressions (on sale until tomorrow! don't forget the Embellie Gellie!)
Punches: None
Big Shot:
Spellbinders Flower
Challenges Used: HYCCT21

For the next card, I was supposed to use 3 DSP, 2 embellishments, and 1 ribbon.  I used the sketch by Karen Giron for the Skipping Stones Sketch Challenge.  You'll notice there are 3 embellishments - you can't really see the doily transparency in the back, so I added some pearls for good measure.  The challenge didn't say ONLY 2 embellishments.
Stamp Sets: Moments in Bloom by Unity Stamps
Ink: None (used markers)
Copics: Sand Spica
Paper: Confetti Cream, Elegant Eggplant, rest from September Key Ingredient Kit by Taylored Expressions
Accessories: Jewels Pearls; Ribbon, Doily, and Brad from the September Key Ingredient Kit, Elegant Eggplant & Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers.
Punches: 1 1/4" Square
Big Shot:
None
Challenges Used: HYCCT22, SSD48
Size: 5.25 x 5.25

I decided to go simple on this next card to really feature the bird because Cancer truly IS for the birds!
Stamp Sets: Punch Potpourri, Moments in Bloom by Unity Stamps, Everyday Sentiments by Hero Arts
Ink: Crumb Cake, Pacific Point, Regal Rose
Copics: None
Paper: Baja Breeze, Confetti White, Wild Wasabi Textured
Accessories: Clear Stardust Gelly Roll pen
Punches: Bird
Big Shot:
None
Challenges Used: HYCCT26

This next card is for the Gettin' Glimmermisted Wit It challenge where you should use spray ink that's sparkly.  I still have no Glimmer Mist... I know, I know, what's wrong with me?! So I used my trusty Smooch Spritz.  I may have to break down and get some Glimmer Mist... maybe a blue... ok, I digress.  The sketch for this card is based on Taylored Expressions sketch for this week.  Just about all of what you see from the Pet's Place Project Pantry Kit - of course I have that, but it's ON SALE until tomorrow, so grab it!  One thing you can't see in the photo - the pearls in the scallops I made to look like little Hershey's kisses... time to dig into the Halloween candy!
Stamp Sets: None, Nada, Nope, not a one!
Ink: Zip here too
Copics: None
Paper: Confetti White, Pet's Place Pantry Project Kit by Taylored Expressions
Accessories:Adirondack Espresso Pearls, Ribbon & Sticker from Pet's Place Pantry Kit, Latte Smooch Spritz, Elegant Trio flower stencil
Punches: None
Big Shot:
Scalloped Eyelet border die by Taylored Expressions (also on sale!)
Challenges Used: HYCCT27, TESC132

The last card for today was to have your only stamped image be a sentiment.... ok, I admit it, this one was pre-Starbucks.  There is seriously a LOT going on with this card - HOLY "STUFF", Batman!  I think my body was taken over by Sankari, because this card is VERY sparkly!!! Since my stamp room was not equipped with Pearls, she had to use Twinkles instead.  In any event, I like this card, except I should have made the blue piece on top smaller - I was going for a cake-looking thing with stacked square panels... maybe the corner chomper, too... oh well, next card!

Stamp Sets: Make a Wish by Taylored Expressions
Ink: Momento Rich Cocoa
Copics: Clear Spica, BG09, R83, R85, Y15, YR16
Paper: Always Artichoke, Pretty in Pink, Rich Razzleberry (with Ice Smooch Spritz), Sweet Pea DSP, Make a Wish Pantry Project DSP & August Key Ingredient DSP by Taylored Expressions
Accessories: Neutrals button, Pink Rhinestone brad, Ice Smooch Spritz (a LOT of this!), Taylor's Tiny Twinkles
Punches: None
Big Shot:
Flower Layers with Leaf
Challenges Used: HYCCT29

CPS Sketch + Stitching

Today's card is for the CPS Sketch Challenge.  I've been wanting to play along with their challenges, but for some reason, it just never happened.  This week's prize is from Taylored Expressions.  Of course I had to play along!!!  This sketch was really hard for me for some reason... I think I'm having a mojo lapse. :(  It's probably because I really haven't been feeling well.  I got my pneumonia shot, so that shouldn't be it... fingers crossed it's not pleurisy again! :(  Ok, ok, enough of that... on to the card!  For this card, I used HYCCT23, as well.  I have the mini sewing machine on my Christmas/Birthday list, so until then, it will only be faux stitching for me.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I outlined the clouds with a Spica pen, and the leaves on the trees have a little red in them, too, from thumping with a marker.
Stamp Sets: Trendy Trees
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie
Copics: Clear Spica
Paper: Summer Sun, Taken with Teal, Whisper White, Welcome Home DSP
Accessories: Real Red and Basic Black Stampin' Write Markers, Mini Library Clips
Punches: None
Big Shot:
None
Challenges Used: HYCCT23, CPS190

Vintage Pink for Hope

If you're looking for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop, scroll down.  These two cards are for two more challenges for hope.  The first was for Vintage Style, and oh how I struggle with vintage.  I LOVE the look of it, but I just can't seem to do it right.  Then I saw Deb's Card, and I was like - I can do that!  I tried, anyway.  Hope it's ok.  It's hard to tell from the picture, but the white on the bottom DSP is fuzzy.  I "distressed" both DSP panels with Distress Ink - my first time actually using them.  They go on so smooth.
Stamp Sets: Tiny Tags
Ink: Early Espresso, Antique Linen Distress Ink (distress the DSP), Wheat VersaMagic (distress the green panel)
Copics: None
Paper: Soft Suede, Pear Pizazz, Christmas Cocoa DSP (I think that's the name)
Accessories: Latte Smooch Spritz, Sleigh Bells ribbon, Gold cord
Punches: Jewelry Tag, Crop-a-Dile, Corner Chomper, Scalloped Eyelet border by Taylored Expressions (on sale now!)
Big Shot:
None
Challenges Used: HYCCT18

This next card was a little easier, but still tough for some reason.  For this challenge, we were supposed to use pink to describe a childhood memory.  I was more of a purple and green kid, but I did have this ONE doll that was pink, so here she is!  I also used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch. I think I should have made the girl panel a little smaller... oh well, for next time...
Stamp Sets: Clara (my name for Girl with Hearts) by Hero Arts
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
Copics: Sand Spica, E25, E33, E50, E51, R01, RV00, RV11, RV19, Clear Spica
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Rich Razzleberry textured, Choice Snow White by Taylored Expressions (on sale now!), Me & My Big Ideas DSP
Accessories: Pretty in Pink striped grosgrain, Flower brad, Pink zigzag from Taylored Expressions KI

Papertrey October Blog Hop Challenge

Today, I decided to play along with the Papertrey Blog Hop.  I don't have enough Papertrey stuff (yet) to be able to make an entire card with Papertrey stuff, but I'm getting there!  The challenge was to do a card for a different winter holiday.  Well, I didn't have those stamps, so I decided to make a hot coffee/tea card, which is ALWAYS something I like in the winter.  This particular card is for the Sketch with a Twist challenge for hope, but a duplicate will be going to my Aunt.  The twist for the card was that it had to be dance-themed, well, once again, no dance stuff here (TRUST ME on that!).  But, I cannot even walk, let alone dance without my coffee, so this is the pre-dance warm up cup!  Ok, now back to my aunt... her birthday is December 26, so I decided to make her a birthday card that, in no way, looked like a Christmas card.  I think she'll appreciate that, so that is my winter holiday!

Stamp Sets: Just Believe, Tea for Two Additions and Vintage Labels by Papertrey Ink
Ink: Early Espresso, VersaMark, Vintage Cream by Papertrey Ink
Copics: Sand Spica pen
Paper: Crumb Cake, Pear Pizazz, Very Vanilla, DSP from September Key Ingredient Kit
Accessories: Latte Smooch Spritz, Ribbon from Sept KI
Punches: None
Big Shot:
Labels One Nestabilities, Tea Cup by Papertrey Ink

Hoping for a Cure

Here are two more cards for the Hope You Can Cling To challenges going on at SCS.  For the first challenge, we were supposed to use felt on the card, which I did for the first time just a few weeks ago (for a card for these challenges, as a matter of fact).  I tried to cut the grass out of felt, but the die just wouldn't do it.  I'll have to keep playing with it.  I spritzed the flowers with Smooch, but you really can't tell in the photo.
Stamp Sets: Punched Poises
Ink: Glorious Green
Copics: None
Paper: River Rock, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Felt, Hot Pink gems (not sure where they came from), Ice Smooch Spritz
Punches: None
Big Shot:
Grass by My Favorite Things, Old Flowers Dies by Spellbinders
Challenges Used: HYCCT16

The next card challenge was to pop out the focal image.  Well, duh, I do that on like every card, so this was easy peasy.  I wanted the Stickles and Pearls to show on this card, so I kept the Copic coloring very minimal.

Stamp Sets: Make a Wish by Taylored Expressions
Ink: Momento Rich Cocoa
Copics: R46, R83, Y17, YG13
Paper: All from Make a Wish Pantry Project Kit by Taylored Expressions, except the scallop - that is from Me & My Big Ideas paper stack
Accessories: Cotton Candy & Lime Green Stickles; Taylor's Tiny Twinkles (on sale now! don't forget the Embellie Gellie to put them on), Adirondack Espresso Liquid Pearls (part of the Make a Wish Pantry Project Kit too!), Maya Road brown ribbon
Punches: Corner Chomper
Big Shot:
Scalloped Eyelet Border by Taylored Expressions (also on sale now!)
Challenges Used: HYCCT17

The next challenge is vintage... yikes!  Wish me luck!!!!

I have been stamping!

I know I've been gone a bit, but I really HAVE been stamping!  I'll prove it...  The first item is the start to the rest of my Christmas cards.  This tree is done with the Letterpress in gold ink.  There are 40 of them there in that stack.  That was what I spent a bit of time doing this weekend.  Once I got the hang of it, though, it went pretty quickly.  Now I just have to figure out what the rest of the card is going to be. :)

This next little card was for Boss' Day.  I love this little raccoon!

The last card I'm going to show you today is for a good friend of mine's birthday. My oh so smart husband asked me what I wanted for our anniversary.  The answer was "stuff from Taylored Expressions, of course".  He, being oh so wise, said - why don't you just get it then?  So I went shopping!  My stuff came last night, and it was SOOO hard to decide what new stuff to use!  I settled on the Make a Wish Pantry Project Kit.  I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch for this card.
Stamp Sets: None (Occasional Quotes on the inside)
Ink: Gable Green Craft (to color bottom of cupcake)
Copics: None
Paper: Cherry Cobbler (scalloped square), the rest was from the Make a Wish Pantry Project Kit by Taylored Expressions

Challenges Used: Sweet Sunday Sketch # 89

The last card I made is for the Taylored Expression Blast from the Past Blog Hop, so you're just going to have to wait a couple of days to see that one.  Enjoy!

One More Mini VSN Card

I have two posts tonight, so scroll down for 3 more cards I made for the Mini VSN going on tonight on SCS.
This card is for the Quote Challenge where you are to find inspiration from the quote and make is shimmer.  Well, the quote talked about snowflakes, so I was sold there!  Of course, I had to use my NEW Cuppie set.  It was hard to capture the shimmer in the photo, but there's some SERIOUS Smooch Spritz on this card!

Mini VSN for Hope

Tonight is the Mini VSN over on SCS, and so far, all the challenges have lined up with the challenges I still need to do for the Hope You Can Cling To challenges for the month of October.  I've got two-fer's for ya!
The first card is for Birthdays are a Piece of Cake, which is to create a birthday a birthday card and use paper piecing.  I also used Inspired by Cloud 9, which was to take inspiration from one of the patterned papers that are posted + add something sparkly.  I chose the candy cane paper and took the red and green motif and my sparkle was Candy Cane Stickles, of course.
Stamp Sets: Pun Fun
Ink: Wild Wasabi (inked the edges of the label), Momento Tuxedo Black
Copics: R39 (for bow and balloon)
Paper: Regal Rose, Confetti Cream, Phoebe DSP by Basic Gray
Accessories: Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon, Candy Cane Stickles
Punches: None
Big Shot:
Labels 9 Nestabilities
Challenges Used: HYCCT12, NOV10VSNMINI1

The next card was an interesting one... The HYCCT challenge was to do a non-square card, and the VSN challenge was to use the spotlighting technique.  I'd never actually done the spotlight... guess it turned out ok.
Stamp Sets: Because I Care
Ink: Crumb Cake

The last card (for now) is for the Ribbon, Ribbon, Ribbon challenge, as well as the Calming Pastels challenge.  I think the ribbon piece is pretty self-explanatory, but for the pastels, I chose to watercolor with the pastels on watercolor paper using a stencil.  I like how this looks, but think I'll use watercolor crayons next time.

Walking the Dog for Hope

Today's card is for the Walk on By challenge where you are supposed to use something you see on your walk to inspire you.  Well, the only thing I really see on my walk is dogs, so this stamp was perfect!  I do see the fall colors right now, making the Max & Whiskers paper a natural choice.  I used the first sketch by Taylored Expressions when it was still a cupcake challenge!

Stamp Sets: Let's Go for a Walk by My Favorite Things

More Pink Cards

Here are two more cards for the HYCCT challenges at SCS.  I'm only 3 behind... look at me go!
The first card is for the Flower Power challenge to put a flower on your card.  I did that on the last card - guess I should have read ahead. :)  Anyway, I'd been wanting to use the Just Believe set, and I saw THIS CARD by Pam Wilson (yes, again!) and knew I had to copy it.
Stamp Sets: Just Believe
Ink: Always Artichoke
Copics: None
Paper: Marina Mist, River Rock
Accessories: Polka dot ribbon from the August Key Ingredient kit (I think), Pink Stickles
Punches: Corner Chomper
Big Shot:
Elegant Lines folder
Challenges Used: HYCCT08

The next card is probably the brightest, quirkiest, oddest card I've ever made, and you know what - I like it!  It's so odd it works.  This card is for the Scrabble challenge to make a pink square card with 4 squares of paper on it.  It's hard to see, but the turquoise "cloud" in the middle has the Elizabeth stamp in silver and "Birthday Wishes" also in silver.

Stamp Sets: Elizabeth, Occasional Quotes
Ink: Encore Silver
Copics: None
Paper: Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink, Taken with Teal, Pink Flamingo DSP
Accessories: Flower & Tiny Twinkles from Taylored Expressions, Gelly Roll Stardust pen
Punches: Scalloped Square, Photo Corner

Wedding Adage Hope

Sara Henton made 2 challenges on the Hope You Can Cling To event going on at SCS - Something Old, Something New and Something Borrowed, Not Necessarily Blue.  Of course, I had to do those together.
For the first card, I used stuff (on the left) straight out of the envelope from the blog candy I won on Michelle's (yup, with 2 L's) site. This would be my FIRST time stamping with Unity stamps (except at CHA), and my first ever time using Ippity stamps.  I have one other Unity set, but I have yet to use it.  BAD ME!!!  So, that's my new, along with Maya Road ribbon.  My "old" are those library clips... I've had those forever and never use them.  They're so cute, not sure why I'm hoarding them, but I thought library clips - book stamp... hmmmm...  For this card, I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch for the first time, too!  Anyway, here it is...
Stamp Sets: Books a Flutter by Ippity, Everyday Sayings by Hero Arts
Ink: Early Espresso, Momento Rich Cocoa
Copics: (OMG LOTS!) B00, B02, BG01, BG72, E02, E15, R01, R46, R85, RV00, RV11, YG03, YG23, YR01, YR18
Paper: Phoebe DSP by Basic Gray; Parakeet, Saltiloo, & Choice Buttercream by Taylored Expressions
Accessories: Mini library clips, Maya Road ribbon
Punches: None
Big Shot:
None
Challenges Used: HYCCT06

The next card  was to borrow something from someone, so I chose to borrow an idea from Pam Wilson.  I stole just about everything from her for this card... :)  The colors were to represent one of the ribbon colors supporting each cancer.  Since there is not one for skin cancer, I chose a Teal/White combination, which would support cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, and lung cancer - none of which I hope to get!
Stamp Sets: A Year of Sweet Sentiments by Taylored Expressions
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Copics: None
Paper: Regal Rose, Taken with Teal, Whisper White, Sweet Pea DSP
Accessories: Pretties kit flower, Pretty in Pink gingham ribbon, jumbo button, Cherry walnut ink & Platinum shimmer paint mixed with 0 various ink refill to color the flower
Punches: Modern Label
Big Shot:
None
Challenges Used: HYCCT07

More Cards for Hope

Here are more cards I did for SCS's monthly challenge... almost caught up!
The first card is for the Unsentimental challenge, where you are not supposed to put a sentiment on the card.  I usually don't put sentiments on the card until it's time to use them, because I'm not really sure what I'm going to use it for, unless it's absolutely obvious.  So, this was an easy one for me.
 Stamp Sets: Ribbon of Hope
Ink: Glue Pad
Copics: None
Paper: Old Olive, Sweet Pea DSP, Choice Snow White by Taylored Expressions
Accessories: Pink sparkly fluff, Jewels rinestones, Sanding block
Punches: Stair Step corner, Corner Chomper
Big Shot:
Hope textured plate
Challenges Used: HYCCT03

The next card I made totally hard on myself (for no good reason, I'm sure!).  For this challenge, 4x4, you are supposed to use 4 layers + 4 different embellishments.  Why oh why did I decide to make a 4x4 card too? Maybe I was caught up in the 4 theme... no idea!  In any event, for my embellishments, I used a stencil, Smooch Spritz (on the chipboard circle - didn't come out so shiny in the photo), Stickles (on the punched circle - again, hard to see the sparkle), ribbon, and a brad.  I did 5 in case the stencil doesn't count. :)  I also used SCS's 300th Sketch Challenge for this card.
 Stamp Sets: A Little Something
Ink: Marina Mist, Early Espresso
Copics: None
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Choice Snow White by Taylored Expressions, DSP from September Key Ingredient kit
Accessories: Elegant Trio Stencil, Chipboard circle, Blue Stickles, Ribbon & Brad from September Key Ingredient kit, Latte Smooch Spritz, Gelly Roll Stardust pen
Punches: 1 3/4" circle, Crop-a-Dile (for stay put bow)
Big Shot:
none
Challenges Used: HYCCT04, SC300

The last card for this round is for Twine Time challenge to use twine in a different way.  Well, I'm not really sure I did that, but I used it multiple times. :)

Stamp Sets: Clara (what I named Girl with Hearts by Hero Arts)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
Copics: 0, B00, E25, E33, E50, E51, R01, RV11
Paper: Choice Snow White by Taylored Expressions, Good Friend (I think) DSP
Accessories: Felt, Baker's Twine, Pink Gingham ribbon
Punches: None

Hope You Can Cling To - Day 1

Over on SCS, they are having a month-long challenge to make cards for the UT MD Andersen Cancer Center. The event kicked off on World Card Making Day with 3 challenges, and every day thereafter will be one more challenge.  Of course, I'm a week behind, so here are my cards for the first 3 challenges....
The first card is for Pink Holidays, where you are to make a card for a holiday using pink.  This card is for Halloween, but I couldn't find a place to put the sentiment. I also used Taylor's Sketch from last week, yup a week late on that too! :)

Stamp Sets: Trick or Sweet II by Taylored Expressions
Ink: Momento Rich Cocoa
