Got the picture!

I had to be stealthy and not look like I was stealing something from her gifts, but I got the photo of the 3x3 card I gave to my neighbor - hence the less-than-perfect photo. This card was from Latte and Gandy (see below for new pic of them... too funny!)

Stamp Sets: All in the Family, Fundamental Phrases
Ink: Jet Black StazOn, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa (for watercoloring)
Paper: Certainly Celery (base), So Saffron (scallop circle), Chocolate Chip (1 3/8" circle), Whisper White (1 1/4" circle), Cutie Pie DSP
Accessories: Aqua Painter
Punches: Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, 1 1/4" Circle, Corner Rounder

I used the watercoloring with an ink pad technique for this, basically because I was too lazy to pull out my Watercolor Wonder Crayons and my Close to Cocoa pad was sitting on my (extremely messy) stamp table. Worked out ok if I do say so myself... this card from start to finish took under 10 minutes to make.

Once again, I am doing some spring cleaning... it was 45-degrees here in sunny Chicagoland yesterday and this morning (notice - I didn't say that is was that warm now!). In any event, I've posted a trade list on Splitcoaststampers, so if you're looking for some new-to-you stuff, check it out - TRADE LIST. I'm also spring cleaning my Longaberger Baskets; they're uploaded to a PHOTO ALBUM.

I'm still looking for ideas for the 5x5 scrapbook with the Crew Kids Girl SSK... anyone????

This Saturday, I'm going to the Stampahowlics gathering, so I'd better get working on my swap cards... there are supposed to be 100 Stampin' Up! demonstrators there! I can't wait!!! I just hope it doesn't wear me out like everything from last weekend - I left work early to go back to the doctor yesterday. They put me on prednisone. I hate that stuff, but if it will make me better...

Lastly, this was just too funny not to share... here are both of my furry kids drinking out of the SAME water bowl... TOO FUNNY!

Secret Sis Final Gift

My poor poor secret sis... I was sick, so I couldn't get the post office to mail this to her. It *finally* went out Wednesday when I went back to work. I ended up having a sinus infection and pleurisy. For those of you who don't know what pleurisy is, let me tell you it's one of the most painful things I've ever had! I've linked the WebMD info... let's put it this way - I was on percoset for the pain. I was basically a veggie on the couch for about a week with those pills. Last night, I had a coughing fit that almost made me pass out from the pain. In any event, I'm feeling MUCH better (even with only Advil/Tylenol), and it couldn't have come at a better time - I am a busy busy bee for the next few weeks. More about that after I show you the goods...

I've already shown you the family portrait frame and the birthday calendar. You've seen the Altoids tin gift card holder, but it's what's INSIDE that counts here... a Cold Stone Creamery gift card, which she says is her favorite treat. I made her a card using the new Sprinkles set and Berry Bliss DSP (up close & deets on that below). She loves ribbon, so I broke off some of my new Bashful Blue Grosgrain, and rolled that up inside a peek-a-boo box. She said she wanted the Dotted Autumn set, so I sent her mine. I also sent her a bit to make a little bling - it's not Stampin' Up!, but I don't think she'll mind TOO much... a Gelly Roll Stardust pen (it's what made the letters sparkle on the birthday calendar cover. Then, some Crystal Stickers Pearls and Hero Arts Gemstones round out the package. Hope she's gotten it by now and likes it!
Now the card (was sick when I took this, so it's a bit fuzzy, sorry)...

Stamp Sets: Time Well Spent Hostess Set, Sprinkles, Everyday Flexible Phrases
Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Berry Bliss DSP
Accessories: Regal Rose Stampin' Write Marker, Purely Pomegranate Double-Stitched Grosgrain ribbon, Gelly Roll Stardust pen (around outside of flower on heart), Signo White Gel pen (flower center)
Punches: Round Tab, Spiral, Ticket Corner

Now, to my busy bee stage... Last night, I went to a Lia Sophia jewelry party that my neighbor, Pat, had. I hadn't seen a Lia Sophia catalog since before I moved to California. Needless to say, I'm going to have my own show for her next month with the new catalog. If you're looking for some AWESOME new jewelry, let me know, and I'll get Heidi to hook you up! She is just starting out in her new business, so I'm happy to help. Also last night, I got a Stampin' Up! workshop booked!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to make scrapbooks with the 5x5 art journal and the Crew Kids Girl SSK with a group of 13-14 year old Girl Scouts! I'm SOOO excited! For those you who have made a scrapbook with this journal, I'd be HAPPY to see your ideas... please link your photos if you have them. THANKS!
But that's not all... tomorrow is a baby shower for a girl in my neighborhood, Beth. She is registered at Target, and WOW is that a PAIN to find the right stuff of that registry - those numbers are TINY. From now on, I will order online from gift registries - SO much easier. In any event, I did my time in the baby aisles at Target and found enough of the items to make a gift bag. :) Also, in the dollar spot (LOVE this, don't you??!!), they had these puppy baby sets - onesie, hat, and booties. Of course I *had* to get these. They are from Latte and Gandy for the new baby. Oh yeah, did I mention that she doesn't want to know the sex of the baby? So, it's green and yellow, instead of pink or blue. In any event, I forgot to take a picture of the cute little 3x3 card that I made from Latte and Gandy before I put it in the envy. I'll have to get a pic of it tomorrow when she opens it. Here are her two gift bags...

And here's a close-up of my card (luckily I used a clear envy)... I think I did a pretty good job of keeping it gender-neutral...

Stamp Sets: Bundle of Joy, Fundamental Phrases, Everyday Flexible Phrases
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Mellow Moss Craft
Paper: So Saffron, Regal Rose, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Petals & Paisley DSP
Accessories: Signo White Gel pen, Whisper White Grosgrain ribbon, Mellow Moss button, Light Pink Gingham ribbon
Punches: Corner Rounder, 1/16" circle

For the shower tomorrow, I'll be making this punch and floating the rubber duckies on the top. I figured the blue was ok, since it looked like water. Well, I'm off to get my hair cut and dyed... going auburn for the rest of the winter. Gonna try it, anyway. :) Then, to the grocery store and back home to work on my swaps for the Stampahawlics gathering next Saturday and 1st birthday cards for 3 special babies. Until then...

Home Sick Today

I've got the flu that's going around the Chicago area... oh man does it SUCK!! I'm hoping to get some stamping done between trips to the bathroom. It's supposed to snow and be very cold today, so I guess it's a good day to stay inside anyway.

Secret Sis Projects

Ok, so I'm hedging my bets that my secret sis doesn't read my blog, because I just can't wait ANY LONGER to post these! These two projects were made for the final package to be sent to my secret sis. The box was *supposed* to go out today, but alas, I forgot to actually *buy* the box to put the stuff in. It's been a tad hectic around here. My German Shepherd Dog, Gandy, has decided that he doesn't like Momma working and not being home during the day, so he's going to EAT something or somethings. He has taken a certain fancy for a pillow that I bought in Oman (yes, in the Middle East, Oman), so needless to say, I'm NONE too happy with him right now. Every night, instead of stamping, I'm cleaning up the carnage that he has left for me and punishing him. I tried putting up fences to keep him confined to a certain area. That doesn't work - he's too big and knows it. He just goes where he wants and makes a bigger mess knocking down the gate. I think I have it now... He didn't eat anything today (that I've found yet, anyway). Wish me luck! And, if you have ANY suggestions, PLEASE send them my way!
Ok, enough whining, now to the stamping....
The first project I made for her that took FOREVER (because I'm a perfectionist) was a birthday calendar using the Art Journal. Each month has two pull-outs that she can use for notes, listing the birthdays, or photos.
The complete details have been posted on my New DBWS!Here is an example page...

The next project I made for her was a family portrait using the All in the Family set. I'm really happy with how this turned out. I had asked her to send me a photo of the family members back at the beginning of the round, but I never got it. So, I couldn't color the family. She's going to have to do that, but that will take like 5 minutes to do. I used the NEW and FABULOUS Ginger Blossom DSP... Did I mention that I LOVE THIS PAPER!!!! I promise to make projects with the paper and not hoard it. This project is also on the DBWS - look at me go!

Until next time...

New Demonstrator Business Website!

Ok, so WHERE have I been again???!!! Other than a whirlwind trip to California and back during the storm of the century, having my 31st birthday in an airport, and working, no where but customizing my NEW Demonstrator Business Website (DBWS).
Here is the link for all you enthusiasts out there... www.stampwithmicha.stampinup.net
The card pictured above was sent out to all those WONDERFUL people that sent my FABULOUS gifts this Christmas... yup, one more reason to send me presents. (Please email me privately for my address. LOL!) It is the Featured Project on my new DBWS. Check it out! It's still a work in progress, but it's coming along nicely, I think... feedback is ALWAYS welcome!
I got my FIRST Spring/Summer catty order today... little fired up about that, which is why I must keep this short... gotta go mount some NEW RUBBA!!!!!!!!!!!
Once I get my stuff finished for my secret sis, I'll be posting a TON here and on my DBWS. Stay tuned, and have a great week!

Happy New Year!!!!

Welcome to 2008!!!!!!! I did stamp today - a LOT, AND I used my NEW mini photo studio that Santa also brought. Today I made my 2008 calendar (yeah, I know I waited until the last minute) using the Calendar background stamp and some Creative Memories calendar stickers that I've been hoarding. It turned out pretty cute, but word to the wise... If you going to use the calendar stamp to make a WHOLE year, hand-write the numbers for the dates. I started out stamping them, and it took WAY too long and didn't look that good. I like my hand-written ones better. I promise photos soon. This weekend, we're going to Dinner by Design to make meals for the next couple of weeks for my birthday... it should be fun! I'll try to post the photos of my calendar and my Christmas present thank you cards soon (after I watermark them, of course). Until then, here are a couple of photos from Christmas to tide you over... Best of luck to you in 2008!!!!

The first photo is Latte doing her Frank the Pug (from the movie Men in Black) impersonation.

Happy New Year from the whole family!
