Weekend Sketch Challenge #28 + Free Stamps!

I decided to play with Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge, as well as kick out another card for the Limited Supplies Challenge (here's my first one). If you don't recognize that heart, that's because IT'S BRAND NEW!!!!!!!!! It's a Level 3 hostess set from the Spring/Summer 2008 Collection. That's right... this set, called Time Well Spent, was sent to all Stampin' Up! demonstrators FREE. Oh yeah, FREE STAMPS!!!! You knew right away, I HAD to ink it up, so this is the first of 3 cards I made with this awesome new set.
Stamp Sets: Time Well Spent, Floral BG
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Rose Red
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke, Regal Rose
Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons (Regal Rose, Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant); Scallop Circle punch, Theater Ribbon Originals

The second card I made I'm calling "Groovy Butterfly". This is the first card, if you notice, made with Groovy Guava CS, one of the 2007 InColor line. For some reason, this set just begged for me to use the GG, so I did. I also used 2 more of the InColor line... This is also the first time I used my sewing machine on a card. Lots of first going down here... hmmm...
Stamp Set: Time Well Spent
Ink: Basic Gray
Paper: Groovy Guava, Ballet Blue, Rose Red, River Rock, Soft Sky
Accessories: Stampin' Write Markers (Rose Red, Ballet Blue, Elegant Eggplant), Stirling Silver glitter + 2-way Glue Pen, Sewing machine

The last card (for today) I made with this set uses the cracked glass technique. If you're not familiar with this technique, GET familiar! HERE is Beate's awesome (as always) tutorial on cracked glass. When I was mounting the set, the large flower looked like something that should be done with cracked glass to me. Again, no idea, but maybe it was the Mike's Hard Lemonade... In any event, I think it looks pretty cool cracked. I also see TONS of bright color when I look at this set, so lots of layers came with it. Just an FYI, as well, I watercolored after stamping with Basic Gray on Very Vanilla, and it was colorfast, meaning it didn't bleed when it got wet. Just another reason why I love Basic Gray!
Stamp Set: Time Well Spent
Ink: Basic Gray, Taken with Teal, Creamy Caramel (on the cracks)
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, So Saffron, Taken with Teal, Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons (Rose Red, Taken with Teal, Elegant Eggplant), Stampin' Write Markers (So Saffron, Certain Celery, Rose Red), Regal Rose wide grosgrain, Basic Gray Taffeta ribbon
This project uses a Stay Put Ribbon technique that I learned at a FABULOUS Inkerbelles gathering earlier this year. I'm working on a video to show you how to do them... I'm trying to make it my Thanksgiving present to you all, so stay tuned!

I also have been working on some contest entries for Stampin' Up! I don't think I'm supposed to post them on my blog, but I'm checking into it. If I can, you'll definitely see them. If anyone knows if this is/is not ok, please drop me a comment. Thanks!
In any event, one is a scrapbook page made with this ADORABLE picture of my Latte puppy. How could I NOT scrapbook that?!
Just an update on Gandy, my poor Frankenstein dog... he is doing GREAT!!!!!!!! He is back to terrorizing Latte and running around. While his stitches don't come out for another 10 days, he acts like they aren't even there. Latte even bit him in the stitches while playing last night, and he didn't even wince. SO THANKFUL for that!
