This past Saturday, our street had a progressive dinner. It was appetizers and drinks at 5 different houses, ours being one of them. It was a BLAST!! It was our first time attending one of these in the neighborhood, let alone hosting. Needless to say, we had WAY too much food, but it made some GOOD leftovers for Sunday football. Here is one recipe that I made - Ginger Orange Glazed Chicken... it was REALLY good! I didn't use chicken wings; I used chicken breast tenders cut in half. I thought it would be less messy. We also made Gluhwein, a traditional German Christmas drink. Most folks here had never had it... most liked it, so that was a hit in my book. The next day (during half time of the Browns/Steelers game... don't get me started on the outcome of that one!), I delivered thank you gifts to the hostesses. I made Sheryl's Pouch Card Holders and put 3x3 thank you cards with matching envelopes in them. I made one slight modification on Sheryl's recipe... I scored at 2 1/2" instead of 2 3/4"... it gave a larger opening and made it less cramped inside.

The past two days, I've been in Granger, IN at my parents' house where our German Shepherd Dog (Gandy) had surgery. If you noticed in previous pictures, he had a big black spot between his eyes and a lump by his left ear. Well, these were tumors that the previous owner had not removed. On Monday, I rented an SUV (my little Acura wasn't going to work for this trip), loaded it with Gandy + crate AND Latte's + crate, as well as a turkey roaster and a few other things Momma needed for Thanksgiving and made the 3-hour drive to Granger. Gandy had to come in at 7:30AM Eastern time, 6:30AM our time for surgery, so driving the morning of was NOT an option. That evening was a TOTAL CIRCUS with TWO Germany Shepherd Dogs and a Pug under one roof!!! They all came out alive, though. Tuesday morning, I dropped him off for surgery while Latte played with Auntie Leeza. Leeza and Latte kept Poppy and I occupied. Poppy even took an afternoon nap with Latte, so she didn't worry about big brother being missing. At 4:30PM, I picked Gandy up and loaded him back in the SUV with Latte and drove back home, fighting rush hour the whole way. It wasn't so bad until I made a wrong turn and went THROUGH downtown Chicago. Oops!!!!!!!!!! In any event, we made it back and Gandy is recovering well, it seems. He is on pain pills and sedatives, so he's been sleeping most of the day. Latte is confused because she can't play with brother right now. In any event, stamping will probably be few and far between in the coming days until Gandy gets a little better.
One last parting thought before I let you out of here... Check out Kristen's Custom Monogram Tutorial... too awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
