Catching Up

Hi there! Even though I haven't been posting, I HAVE been stamping. This post is a little long, but it will get you caught up on my adventures in stamping land. I will try to post in the order in which they were created, but I make no promises here. If you hit this lull again, you can check out my SCS gallery - that's where I've been posting the challenges and all. Anyway, enjoy!
Color Combo Challenge #138 - So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red
So these colors aren't something I would EVER put together on my own, but they DO seem to work. I made this just before I left for the airport Thursday, so I thought my Arivadercibella was the perfect stamp... plus, she hadn't seen ink until that day. (I know, I know!)
Stamps: Arivadercibella, Floral BG
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Jet Black StazOn
Paper: Real Red, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, Creamy Caramel
Accessories: WWC, Aqua Painter, Spiral Punch

Double Challenge: Try a New Technique Challenge # 141 - Horizontal Pocket Card & Color Combo Challenge # 139 - Bashful Blue/Soft Sky, Ruby Red, Wild Wasabi
Since I was on an airplane (coming home, though!) on Monday, I missed the technique challenge, so I decided to combine it with Tuesday's color combo. I used some "leftovers" from my World Card Making Day class, where we used the Winter Bright SSK. This project just flew together... so easy! Just add Ruby Red, and I'm there! Want to do your own pocket card?
Check out Beate's tutorial - it rocks, of course! Gotta LOVE Beate!!!
Stamps: NONE!!
Ink: NONE!!
Paper: Ruby Red, Bashful Blue Textured, Wild Wasabi, Winter Bright DSP
Accessories: Wild Wasabi Double-Stitched grosgrain, Winter Bright SSK (stickers), Round Tab punch, Corner Rounder punch

Another Double Challenge: Color Combo Challenge # 139 (again) & Sketch Challenge # 149
I wanted to create something non-Christmas with that color combo. If you've noticed, I've been making a TON of birthday cards. Why? I'm out! AND I'm a birthday babe for this round of DDSS, so I need to send at least 4 birthday cards out per month for that, let alone my friends and family... hence, the rise in birthday creations. Anyway, I did it - the color combo non-Christmas!
Stamp Sets: Fun & Fast Notes, Doodle jumbo wheel
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Jet Black StazOn, {Soft Sky, Ruby Red, Basic Gray - watercolor image}
Paper: Soft Sky, Ruby Red, Wild Wasabi, Watercolor paper
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Three For You punch, Vintage brads, 1 3/8" Square punch

This is my contribution to my monthly recipe swap. The recipe is the same as I did for the utahstampaholic's Christmas swap, but it's decorated VERY differently!
November Recipe 6x6 card
Stamp Set: Wanted
Ink: Sahara Sand, Really Rust, Brocade Blue
Paper: Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, River Rock, Apple Cider DSP
Accessories: Spiral punch, Scallop Circle punch, Jumbo eyelet (pewter, I think), Crop-a-Dile (to set eyelet)

In California, Josh had these painted canvas panels. I'd been DYING to stamp on them... they just screamed - STAMP ME!!! Well, in the new house, I finally got that chance. I think I'm going to have to go back and clear emboss them, because it just isn't drying. It probably didn't help that I hung it up in the bathroom, huh? Anyone have any other suggestions, other than embossing for this???? I DO like it that if I mess up, I just take a baby wipe to it and start again.
Stamp Sets: Priceless, Monogram S
Ink: Whisper White craft
Paper: None
Accessories: None, unless you count the baby wipe

Ways to Use It Challenge # 139 - Velvet
This challenge was to use velvet on a card. Well, the only velvet I had was from Ribbon Originals, so I decided to play. Turns out, quite a few folks used the velvet ribbon for this challenge, too. Since I'm on my birthday card kick, I decided to go ahead and make two of these. They were CASEd from custampin's Time is Priceless card (seen HERE). The cards measure 4.25" square before the scalloped edge, which was done with the corner rounder. For some reason, the second card was just screaming for my new taffeta ribbon, so it won. I broke the challenge!
Stamp Sets: Priceless, So Swirly jumbo wheel, Everyday Flexible Phrases
Ink: Rose Red, Basic Gray, VersaMark
Paper: So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Cute Pie DSP
Accessories: Sherbet Ribbon Originals/Basic Gray Taffeta ribbon, Hodgepodge S-clip, Silver brads, 1 3/8" Square punch, Corner Rounder, Crop-a-Dile (for holes in scallop)

Whew! That's a bunch... ok, I get it... I need to post more frequently! Until next time...
