I'm Back!

Ok, so I'm *almost* moved in and settling in sunny Chicago. I'm completely LOVING my house, but not so fond of all the card board boxes... Oh well, they're almost gone. Anyway, today was the due date for my Holiday Mini swap (check out the mini catalog here), so even though my stamp room is a complete disaster (photo on right... am I wrong?!?!), I had to stamp. See the tiny table in the middle of the room?? Yup - that's what I used to crank out these swaps... look at me go!
I swap with a group of sideline demos in the Indianapolis area... I'm actually half-way close to them now! We swap every new mini catalog... it's so cool! They do such great work. I hope they'll give me a bye on my this time, since I couldn't FIND anything in my stamp room.

For this card, I used Almost Amethyst CS as the base. I wheeled the new Snow Jumbo Wheel in Ballet Blue on the inside of the card and tore the bottom off the front of the card. I stamped the tag image from the new Tags on Board set in Not Quite Navy ink on So Saffron CS. I then stamped the tiny poinsettia and "Happy Holidays" in Rose Red, both from Tags on Board, and cut out the tag. I closely mounted the tag on Not Quite Navy and cut again. I used my Crop-a-Dile (love it!!!) to set the eyelet in the center of the poinsettia (bashful blue eyelet) and strung the new elastic silver cord through and mounted the tag (with parts) with pop dots. I'm LOVING this new cord... it's SOOOO easy to work with and doesn't fray on the ends like the old stuff. This card is a normal-sized card.

This next card is a 3x3 mini card. I used Wild Wasabi for the base and stamped the "Merry Christmas" from Tags on Board in VersaMark. While that was "drying", I colored the small tag from the On Board Accents with a Rose Red Craft Spot using direct to paper... this is my favorite way to cover chipboard - it's SO quick and easy! I stamped the Christmas tree image, also from Tags on Board on to the tag with Handsome Hunter. I used a silver gel pen to outline the swirl and star on the Merry Christmas, as well as the garland and star on the tree. I attached the tag with Wild Wasabi double-stitched grosgrain ribbon. The ends of the ribbon look a bit ratty, because I cannot find my good scissors ANYWHERE!! I think I'm going to have to break down and buy some new paper snips... :(

The final project was a 6x6 scrapbook layout. I used Bashful Blue Textured CS (first time using the textured... love it!!). The Snow Jumbo Wheel just screamed scrapbook page when I saw it in the catty, so of course, I *had* to use it here. I wheeled it twice on the lower 2/3 of the page in Ballet Blue, then stamped the snowflake in Real Red (using the colors from the Winter Bright SSK) inside one of the "O"s. I cut a piece of Real Red CS that will fit a 3x5 photo with some room for a tight mat. I adhered that piece, then punched the hole (again with the Crop-a-Dile) in the bottom-right corner of the mat and attached a rhinestone brad. I attached two of the new Mini Library Clips to the left-hand side and called it done!
There will be more to come out of my new stamp room... I'm working on some etched glass Christmas gifts, so stay tuned! I'm also going to be giving out the first-ever blog candy on my blog in the coming weeks, so make sure your subscription is up-to-date. Until then...
